Gattuso: “We are not dead, three-man defence…”

AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Udinese, following two consecutive losses.

On the situation: “We come from two negative results, but the group gives me great hope, the team is alive and is doing everything. We are alive, we are not dead.”

On the protests: “I am not looking for alibis. Orsato (referee) is one who whistles little and leaves a lot. There were two borderline episodes, but they must be accepted.”

On Caldara: “He has been training with us for 25 days and he is growing.”

On Piatek: “In the second half against Inter and Samp we created a lot. In the first halves, I have noticed that Piatek is too lonely. We need to be more proactive.”

On Bakayoko: “In the first half he struggled like everybody else, then in the second half he did well as a midfielder. It is not a problem where Bakayoko plays.”

On Donnarumma: “He took on the responsibility. It is a mistake that can be made, it happens, I like how he handled the situation, as I appreciated the words of Conti. This means that the group is healthy.”

On Udinese: “For us, it is a fundamental race, we are forced to win it. We must enter the field with desire, but also with peace of mind.”

On the change of formation: “We will see in the next matches. We have the players to play with the three-man defence and a trequartista.”
