GdS: AC Milan turned down opportunity to sign Juventus defender

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are in need of reinforcements in January, following a very poor start to the season. In 12 games, the Rossoneri have conceded 16 goals (-4 goal difference), which makes the defence one of their priorities.

The January transfer window is just around the corner and the Milan directors are at work to identify possible solutions for Pioli’s side. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), they rejected the opportunity to sign Daniele Rugani from Juventus.

Milan aren’t convinced by the former Empoli man, per the report, despite the Bianconeri’s willingness to sell him in January. Instead, Boban and Maldini have their hearts set on another Juve man, namely Merih Demiral.

The Turkish defender is the Rossoneri’s first choice, as the report continues, having tried to sign him already in the summer. The operation has been given total priority, and it remains to be seen how much Juventus will demand to let the player leave.
