GdS: ‘Arabia calls’ – Milan set price for Adli after rejecting first offer

By Oliver Fisher -

Over the past few weeks there have been rumours regarding Saudi interest in Ismael Bennacer, but it is Yacine Adli that seems to have ended up in their crosshairs.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a club from the Saudi Pro League has come forward and made an offer for Adli, one that is deemed too low but was met by a willingness from the Milan management to negotiate.

The Rossoneri are looking for around €15-20m in order to sell the Frenchman, and with that money the summer transfer budget would be boosted. Thus, Milan could afford the two signings that they are looking to bring in.

Geoffrey Moncada and co. have been working on Youssouf Fofana for weeks now and, having struck an agreement with the player, they are negotiating a discount with Monaco. The prerequisites for the Lazar Samardzic deal are more or less the same: the player wants the move, Udinese ask for more.

It is clear that Paulo Fonseca wants some changes in the midfield and that is why Adli’s spot in the squad is no longer assured. Last season the former Bordeaux man made 17 starts in Serie A, with one goal and two assists, but now a future in the Middle East could await.

  1. We need to stop being greedy. Take the money and run. He’s too slow, he never should have been signed in the first place.

    1. Lol. Speed is not a requirement Pirlo, Zidane, Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Hagi to name a few were all slow players, are you gonna tell me that made them bad players?

We spent 8 mil for him and he is now worth 15-20 that is a significant capital gain that will help our financial stability so again there is no downside to having brought him in and with a good coach who knew how to use him things would be different.

      1. Only video gamers think speed is everything. They have probably never played actual football themselves to know better.

    1. Well said… Just like saying Pirlo was too slow when he first joined Milan.

I see Adli as new Pirlo if milan have a good coach.. play 2 midfielder to win ball for him just like Gattiuso and Ambrosini and allow him do what he does best

      1. Adli is the most underrated Milan player…I was gobsmacked when Pirlo was sold and I will be gobsmacked when Adli leaves…he’s a rough diamond and I believe within 2 years he will flourish and within 4 years he will be one of the best playmakers in the game.
