GdS: Bologna striker the outlier as Milan plan for summer mercato

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are already working in view of the summer transfer window and one of the players on their radar is Marko Arnautovic. At the age of 34, the striker could be set for one last spell at a big club.

This morning, Gazzetta Dello Sport (read here) analysed what lies ahead for Milan, with targeted reinforcements in the summer to build on their solid base. Indeed, many players are expected to leave to make room for the signings.

In addition to Ruben Loftus-Cheek and other project-fitting targets, Marko Arnautovic is also on the Rossoneri’s radar. He’s not the ideal profile for the project, but he’s an experienced striker and could arrive for little money.

This season, the Austrian has scored nine goals in spite of some injury struggles, keeping him out for all but five games in 2023. Milan believe that he could be a good replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is expected to leave the club this summer, and also because Olivier Giroud is getting older (injury risk increases).
