GdS: Brahim Diaz’s future causes divide but there are three certainties at play

By Oliver Fisher -

Brahim Diaz is one of the names generating the most speculation when it comes to AC Milan’s plans for the summer, with seemingly nothing set in stone yet.

La Gazzetta dello Sport write how Brahim has two games left of his second loan from Real Madrid and his situation continues to cause divide among the fanbase, but it begins from three certainties.

The first is that Milan – at the economic conditions deemed appropriate by the owners, which is €18-20m – intend to buy him permanently. The second is that the Spaniard would more than willingly stay in Milan, where he would obviously have a much job bigger role than at Real Madrid. The third is that Real Madrid have the last word.

Soon, Brahim Diaz’s father – who is also his agent – will begin talks with the two clubs and then they will speak to each other. It is still too early to really understand how things will turn out, but some sections of the Milan fanbase have made things clear.

On Twitter, the ‘#DiazOut’ campaign started just as it had done for Pioli when he was appointed and also during the struggles of 2023.

The gist of the matter for the protesters is simple: since an unlimited budget will not be available to the management on the market, using around €20m to sign Brahim – given his inconsistency – might not be the best use of resources.

Brahim has nonetheless scored some important goals for Milan which cannot be overlooked. The most recent was against Sampdoria last Saturday, when he scored and kissed the badge.

In the eyes of some it was not enough to redeem him for inconsistent performance levels, just as the goals against Tottenham, Napoli and Juventus were deemed flashes in the pan.

Tonight, he hopes to add to his tally of two goals against the Bianconeri, then it will be time to speak about his future hopefully with a Champions League spot secured.

  1. Anyone who doesn’t think we should sign him is crazy. He has improved year on year and always comes to play in the big games.

At 23yo old $25m is a bargain especially when you consider some of the fees being paid for other players around the world… and who do we replace him that’s offers us more for the same price?

    1. We will see today if he comes to play.
But since doria was his game by his standard he wont have any good games again this season.
If you can get Kamad for free why would you pay 25M€ for a 23yo who is inconsistent?
Then you can buy a rw wit that cash… orsolini would be a good pick

  2. Really he always comes to play in the big games call me crazy but he was invisible in the games against Inter unless you consider the Derby della Madonnina small games!
