GdS: Champions League isn’t just prestige for Milan – the benefits to consider

By Isak Möller -

Milan are currently nine points behind their city rivals, Inter, in first place and it seems they will have to focus on a top-four finish instead. They have dropped many points lately and will need to pick themselves up.

The Rossoneri are still in second place but as Juventus have one game in hand, they could take over the position. And with several teams lurking behind the Bianconeri, Milan need to claim some wins in order to have some comfort.

After all, getting Champions League football is the goal of the season. As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), it’s not just about prestige and the return after seven years out of the competition, as there are other benefits too.

Qualification would also secure important revenue for the club, which could (and will) be used to further strengthen the squad. Furthermore, it would open up for new partnerships thanks to the exposure, so qualification would be great for Milan.
