GdS: Chelsea man heading for early loan termination even if Milan change owners

By Oliver Fisher -

Many hoped that Tiemoue Bakayoko’s return to AC Milan would be a successful one but it simply has not panned out as planned so far.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported this morning, there is no space for Bakayoko within the Milan project even if a new ownership were to come in, as is rumoured with Investcorp in talks over buying the club from Elliott Management.

This is mainly because Stefano Pioli clearly does not have much trust in the Frenchman, who made his last appearance on the pitch on January 17 in the defeat against Spezia. Even if the agreement with Chelsea foresees a two-year loan, it is not excluded that Bakayoko will return to England as early as this summer.

Bakayoko has made 17 appearances for the Rossoneri this season and has actually been subbed off at half-time in a couple of his starts, showing that Pioli does not have much faith.
