Although no official response has yet arrived from Ivan Gazidis to Silvio Berlusconi’s criticism, a few details have reportedly been linked regarding his stance.
Gazidis was present at Stefano Pioli’s official unveiling last week and raised a few eyebrows by claiming that the club were not far off being relegated to Serie D due to bankruptcy when he arrived.
Berlusconi then hit back on Sunday after Monza had faced AlbinoLeffe, claiming that Gazidis should only say words like that from a toilet.
The current Rossoneri CEO has not responded to that since, however according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it) a couple of clarifications have filtered out of Casa Milan.
The words of the South African executive were reflecting upon the club’s accounts, which were bad due to the previous ownership of Yonghong Li not attributable to Fininvest.
Without the intervention of the American fund to seize back control of the club and clear debts, Serie A would have denied Milan registration for the 2018-19 season.
