AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli will lean on Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic to drag the team through another mini selection crisis against Udinese tonight.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport compares the stats of the two players based on when they are both on the pitch together with Ibrahimovic vs. when they are on the pitch together but not with the Swede.
Both have played 4 games with Ibrahimovic and 5 without, and Rebic has netted 3 goals while the 39-year-old has been present to Leao’s zero, while both have netted once while Zlatan has not been with them.
In terms of shots taken, Leao appears to be more confident with Ibra there as he takes 2.5 with him on the field vs. 1 when he is not, while for Rebic the inverse is true as the figure is 1.5 with Ibra vs. 2.4 without.
Shots on target shows that Leao has 1 per game on average with Ibrahimovic and 0.6 without, while Rebic’s number goes up from 1.25 to 1.5 when the striker is not there. Finally, in chances created Leao has 1 per game with Ibra and 0.8 without, and Rebic’s drops dramatically from 2.5 to 1.2 without the Swede.
Weird to say this…but we’re a better high pressing team without Ibra….We went 8-3-1 without Ibra….Our front 4 presses fully when Ibra is absent.Brahim will be the key..his energy and unpredictability will be key…he had a great game vs Torino the last time he started.
