GdS: Donnarumma moves towards accepting Milan’s offer with Juventus no longer an option

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan look to finally be closing in on securing the renewal of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to a report.

The well-known sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) talks about the future of Donnarumma, who is considered a pillar of Milan but has not been out of the headlines recently for controversy surrounding his contract situation. The 22-year-old has apparently never hidden his desire to stay at Milan, but the difficulties encountered in the negotiation for the renewal of the contract have cast shadows on the issue.

However, things now look more positive because without the money from the Champions League, Juventus could not satisfy the requests of Gigio and his agent, Mino Raiola. At that point there would be no alternatives, while the only offer on the table is the one Milan have tabled at €8m net per season, and they will not go further.

Milan is considered home by Gigio as per the newspaper and if it were up to him he would have already signed, but the parties still have to negotiate. Talks with Raiola will resume once the season is over, but Gigio’s yes is getting closer and closer. The formula for getting everyone to agree could be an extension of one or two years.
