Despite the defeat against Inter in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday, Stefano Pioli was satisfied with the performance of his team.
After two losses in a row, Milan must return to the right path immediately and therefore on Saturday it will be mandatory to return from Bologna with the three points. As La Gazzetta dello Sport writes (via MilanNews), Pioli will be able to welcome midfielder Ismael Bennacer back into the fold for the game.
The Algerian – who has been out since mid-December – should start on the bench, but it is not excluded that he could be used from the first minute, especially if Sandro Tonali is not fit enough. In addition to the former Empoli midfielder, Mario Mandzukic will also be available in attack.
There is some hope that Hakan Calhanoglu will be back too as the Turkey international tested positive for Covid-19 back on January 17, so a negative test is surely imminent. To date though, it is only a simple hope.
Pioli will also be without Brahim Diaz, so he will have to choose a replacement for the playmaker role should Calhanoglu miss the game with Leao, Mandzukic, Krunic and also Daniel Maldini the current candidates.
