GdS: Elliott reflect as Pioli continues to win – his stay alongside Rangnick is not possible

By Oliver Fisher -

There is no chance of Stefano Pioli remaining at AC Milan if Ralf Rangnick arrives despite the club’s recent form, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have been in red-hot form since Serie A resumed, winning six of their eight fixtures including victories over Roma, Lazio, Juventus and most recently a 5-1 triumph over Bologna.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday (via MilanNews), Elliott Management Corporation have closed an agreement with Ralf Rangnick on the basis of a three-year contract.

It is undeniable that the positive results have given Elliott reason for reflection, also because between the end of this season and the beginning of the next there are very few weeks and therefore there is not much time for a new revolution.

There is no doubt about Rangnick’s qualities, but at the same time it is clear that he too will need time to settle in a league he doesn’t know.

Despite this, the paper excludes the possibility that Rangnick only arrives in the role of manager, leaving Pioli to remain as head coach. Instead, the German will definitely be both the coach and the manager of the sporting area.
