GdS: Fiorentina get the go-ahead as €40m midfielder tells Milan he is open to exit

By Oliver Fisher -

Lucas Paqueta has told the AC Milan management that he is open to leaving the club this summer, according to a report.

Paqueta was purchased from Flamengo last January for a fee of just over €40million (€38.4m to Flamengo plus €2.9m in commissions to agents), but after his poor form in recent months his future is now uncertain.

It was recently reported that the Milan leadership are split on what to do regarding the Brazilian, with some believing that a change in head coach could bring the best out of the 22-year-old while other believe he should be sold to bring in funds for other targets.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (as cited by Calciomercato.com) though, Paqueta has communicated to the Rossoneri hierarchy his openness to leave the club this summer if a good enough offer arrives.

The report in particular mentions Fiorentina as the club that Milan are most likely to deal with, and it is an ‘interesting’ destination for Paqueta who would seemingly be open to re-launching his career in Florence.
