GdS: Free transfer increasingly likely as stalemate remains between Romagnoli and Milan

By Isak Möller -

Alessio Romagnoli’s contract will expire at the end of the season and he’s yet to reach an agreement with AC Milan over a renewal. The situation is the same as that of Franck Kessie, with no new updates lately.

The captain will play an important role for the remainder of this season as Simon Kjaer will be out until the summer. Furthermore, Fikayo Tomori is currently injured and might not make it back for the derby next Sunday.

However, while Romagnoli’s role in the present is clear, the same cannot be said for the future. According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, the stalemate remains in the renewal negotiations.

Milan have tabled an offer that’s lower than the current €6m per year Romagnoli earns. The centre-back wants them to come up a bit and that’s the reason behind this stalemate. In fact, no new signals have arrived and the future is in doubt.

  1. I think the reason they are not going higher is because they are factoring in Raiola’s commission. Would he take a hit to get Ale a little more wage?
