GdS: Giampaolo’s arrival convinced Conti to stay at Milan

By Isak Möller -

After two years of bad luck, Andrea Conti wants to leave the worst behind and finally start his adventure with the Rossoneri shirt this upcoming seasons.

Having arrived at Milanello in the summer of 2017, the former Atalanta man suffered a serious knee injury, twice, keeping him out of action for more than a year. Once he returned, the full-back struggled to find his best shape while Gattuso almost always preferred Calabria on the right flank.

As reported by La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the year things have started much better for Conti ahead of the upcoming season. After starting the preparations with his teammates, he was included as a potential starter in the tactical tests of Giampaolo, as the latter is looking for an attacking full-back.

With that said, the arrival of Giampaolo convinced the player to stay at the club, while an eventual confirmation of Gattuso would’ve led to him asking for the sale. Now, Conti’s goal is to bounce back after two horrible years, during which he just played 14 games.
