French AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud is still aiming to make his comeback from injury for the Derby della Madonnina on Saturday against Inter, a report claims.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan), Giroud has confidence about making it back in time for one of the biggest fixtures of the season.
He suffered an ankle injury during France’s Euro 2024 qualifying match against Ireland at the Parc des Princes, but it is not quite as serious as was first feared.
It may be too much of an ask for him to start against Inter, but he is determined to be involved in some way. He is going to be applying more pressure to the area in training on Tuesday and Wednesday and then he and the doctors will learn more about his chances.
Giroud seemed optimistic after suffering the injury, so he is certainly not ruled out just yet.
