Olivier Giroud is under pressure as his goal drought continues, and against Napoli he will try to avoid a negative record.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), Milan will face off against Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday night looking to return to winning ways, and Giroud will be at the centre of the attack.

Giroud has now not scored in eight consecutive matches between the league and the Champions League. This is his longest drought since he joined Milan, and he has not scored from open play since the first game of the season.
If he doesn’t score on Sunday against Napoli, Giroud would equal the scoreless streak of Gonzalo Higuaín (9 games without a goal between October and December 2018), Gianluca Lapadula (9 games between December 2016 and February 2017) and Mario Balotelli (9 games between March and May 2016) in the Rossoneri.

He gets 0 service. Against psg there were several situations where he was in great position to receive the ball, but the final pass was always lacking.
Another thing that illustrates this : since the win against Roma, he only had 0.57xG in 5 games.
A striker needs to be fed chances by his teammates.
The problem here is the game system, and Giroud is not served well.
Why not play okafor CF!!!!
Giroud is not in form
And Jovic is not that guy to be honest
I’ve said many times before and I’ll say it again. Even if we had Haaland instead of Giroud the number of goals would have been zero. Can’t blame the CF for lack of chances. Just like Leao-fanboys keep saying Leao should need to do everything by himself, Giroud shouldn’t be responsible for creating the chances too. He already plays defense for two players (the one next to him).
You’ve said it many times before but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s not an out an out goalscorer. Even when we are making chances, he often fails to control the ball or hold it up. He’ll never get you 20+ goals a season, never has. M’Bappe would score, even in this team and Haaland too. Let’s get him on the bench, where he was used to great effect by Chelsea and Arsenal as an impact striker. We need, need, need a 20+ goals a season striker and that’s all there is to it..
you can name on one hand the amount of players that can produce 20+ goals a season. They all cost 100M+
Eh… Obviously one keyword was missing: “Just like Leao-fanboys keep saying Leao shouldn’t need to do everything by himself,…”
Yes he’s lacking service. But on the other hand, for a club that aim for a Scudetto and being depended to a 37 years old is something that can’t be normalized too.
Giroud is the man…the fact is the service to him has been poor ….He is finding good positions,,goals will come from the whole team again ,I am sure …
Should we revert back to a 4321 ?
We have got a very good team …We can definitely win the scuddeto this season …would you fans be happy with that …just wish Loftus cheek was fit ,,,he has a very important part to play …He can definitely pass a ball ⚽️ and there are goals in him .
I have confidence we will win against Napoli…
That will be a huge boost .
I know your a huge Giroud fan but you have to accept reality. He has never been a 20 goal striker. He is now 37. He can’t run, can’t hold up the ball and has been missing easy chances.
We should be starting okafor as much as possible, so we have someone fit and firing.
How we ended up with no DM and no striker after signing 11 players is beyond belief and complete incompetence by management
He has missed some of the easiest chances since the season started. Go back and see those missed chances for yourself. He is being very wasteful on chances, his conversion rate is the root cause of the goal drought. End of discussion.
Any concrete examples ? The only one I can think of is versus Dortmund, and it was caused by Theo being in his way (and he didn’t even apoligize btw)
This.
and the fact that he is not creating chances for others, due to poor control and not linking play, but not fatigue. He looks as fit as any of them and always gives 100%, We need someone more prolific to start games. Having Giroud on the bench gives us a goal weapon in reserve. We all know he can make an impact and that’s where he works best..
