GdS: How Milan and Napoli are likely to line up in Champions League tie

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and Napoli will face each other in the first of two games on Wednesday. With a ticket to the Champions League semi-finals on the line, the managers have to think carefully about their selection.

Milan obviously won the most recent encounter between the two (4-0 last weekend) but these two games will certainly be different. The Champions League is always a different venture, as evidenced by the Rossoneri this season.

As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport in yesterday’s edition (see photo below), Milan and Napoli will field their strongest XIs for the games (of course). For Milan, that means Simon Kjaer will start and Napoli are hoping to get Victor Osimhen back.

Osimhen trained separately today and his presence remains uncertain, but he will do his best to be there. His replacement Giovanni Simeone is set to miss out, though, after sustaining an injury yesterday.

Rafael Leao and Brahim Diaz have both recovered from their minor knocks, so there are no huge injury issues to worry about except for Pierre Kalulu. He might be back in good shape for the second leg, but with the move to the four-man backline his presence isn’t as crucial.
