GdS: Ibrahimovic could feature in crucial game against Roma – the latest on his future

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is desperate to get back out on the pitch and play for AC Milan with his recovery ongoing, according to a report.

Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) notes how the Swede underwent a new medical check-up on Tuesday to understand how the recovery of his calf problem is going.

Ibrahimovic again received comforting news about his progress and it is not excluded that it may already be available to Pioli for Sunday’s match against Roma at San Siro.

The 38-year-old will start off the bench against the Giallorossi, but if necessary, he could take the field in the second half. Ibra is eager and wants to go back to play, but nobody wants to take risks and therefore the return will only happen if there is no risk of a relapse.

If against Roma he starts from the bench, Zlatan looks highly likely to start against SPAL in Ferrera the next game.

Meanwhile, the paper adds that at the end of the season he and the CEO Ivan Gazidis will meet to talk about his future, but in the meantime Ibra wants to end the season in the best way and drag his beloved Milan back to Europe.

We reported via our mercato correspondent Vito Angele yesterday that if it were up to Ralf Rangnick, according to what has emerged from sources close to the German, Ibrahimovic and Paolo Maldini would remain.
