GdS: Ibrahimovic demands signings – Milan prepares renewal and purchase plan for the summer

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is happy to stay at AC Milan into next season but only if one key condition is met, according to a report.

The fans and his team-mates are hoping that the experience with the Swede will last more than just six months as beyond goals (three in nine games from January to today), he has brought experience and leadership to a young and fragile locker room.

It was reported earlier in the week by La Gazzetta dello Sport though that Ibrahimovic’s renewal will only be activated if a top four finish is achieved, and given how unlikely that is at present, Milan would have to re-negotiate to try and keep him for another year, something they plan to do.

The same outlet confirms on Thursday (via MilanLive) that Milan intend to renew Ibrahimovic’s current contract, and that Zlatan wants to stay but in a more competitive Rossoneri side.

He wants to end his career at a high level and aims to do so in a strengthened team. The company is ready to satisfy him, even preparing a purchase plan for the summer market to increase the quality of the squad. Building a stronger team is a goal anyway, of course, but the management knows that there are signings to be made in order to aim for Champions League qualification.

Furthermore, it must be considered that Ibrahimovic now lives in Milan alone, in a hotel. Should he sign the contract renewal, his wife and two children would join him from Stockholm. Helena likes Italy very much, and would happily return to live there.
