GdS: Ibrahimovic is still experiencing knee pain – his return remains unknown

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently recovering from knee surgery and AC Milan are hoping to have him back for the Champions League. However, the return date is very uncertain for the time being, a report claims.

The Swede underwent surgery after the Scudetto win and has since been working hard to recover. At 41 years of age, though, the process is obviously taking a bit longer and the parties involved don’t want to rush the matter.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Ibrahimovic is still feeling pain in his knee and he’s working hard to strengthen the muscles. His return, as such, remains rather unknown even for the medical staff.

The Champions League clashes against Tottenham, taking place in February and March, remain the goal but nothing should be taken for granted at this stage.

Ibrahimovic will not travel with the team for the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia, thus allowing him to work more at Milanello. However, he could get there by his own means just for the game.

  1. Just call it a career and retire.
    You did your best.
    Stop destroying your joints.
You still have another 50 years outside of football that you’d need those joints.
Should have had a perfect retirement, on top with a scudetto 🏆win.

    1. Agreed. If his knee is still hurting I don’t see how he returns this season. Or if he does it will be for a month or two. Then what was the point? All it did was cause us to pay his salary and not bring in another striker because “we have Ibra”. At this point it’s hurting the team.

  2. People do triathlons even in their fifties. He still manages to do a lot, he knows himself and knows what needs to be done and when. Other wise men can sit at home.

  3. Ibrahimovic cannot come back to play again, don’t stress yourself, he’s old already the injury can’t allow him play again, just bring in another striker and forget ibra,he just want Milan to continue paying his salary and not to bring in another striker, should we say ibra is collecting his pension from Milan or what.. he’s just flexing around l,today Dubai tomorrow Saudi, doing fine boy everywhere, please bring in another striker
