GdS: Kalulu displayed striker’s instinct last night – Milan are working on his renewal

AC Milan are currently five points clear at the tip of the Serie A standings and they have Pierre Kalulu to thank for it. The youngster scored the only goal against Empoli last night and also helped the Rossoneri defend their lead.

As pointed out by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Kalulu displayed a striker’s instinct with his left-foot effort last night. He left the Empoli goalkeeper stranded, with no chance, and it wasn’t an easy effort to execute.

The Frenchman has earned his spot in the starting XI and even though Alessio Romagnoli is now back, the captain is unlikely to get his spot back. Meanwhile, as the newspaper continues, Milan are working on the renewal of Kalulu which will include a deserved pay rise.

The Rossoneri paid just €450k to bring Kalulu to the club two years ago and it’s a gamble that has paid off, seeing as he’s worth a lot more now. Hopefully, he can continue like this until the end of the season.
