The contest between AC Milan and Tottenham tonight offers up many interesting duels, including the one between the two centre-forwards Olivier Giroud and Harry Kane.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below) spoke about the battle between the Englishman and the Frenchman, recalling that the two forwards also did well at the World Cup in Qatar with Kane scoring twice and Giroud netting double that amount.
They also met in the quarter-finals where France were victorious and Giroud scored the winning goal. Kane had drawn the Three Lions level from the spot but couldn’t do the same again late on as he blazed over from 12 yards.
This evening the two technicians Stefano Pioli and Antonio Conte will ask different things from their respective centre-forwards/ Giroud must finish the work of his team-mates by trying to net one in three chances that come his way, while the Spurs man has the instinct for goal of a No.9 and the playmaking ability of a No.10.
