GdS: Key indication arrives from within Red Bull regarding Rangnick’s imminent Milan move

By Oliver Fisher -

The replacement for Ralf Rangnick may have already been sourced from within Red Bull, according to the latest reports.

There have been numerous reports over the past few weeks suggesting that Rangnick will leave his position of Head of Football Development for Red Bull in order to accept a role at Milan as both head coach and the man in charge of recruitment.

Reports emerged from Germany late on Wednesday suggesting that Red Bull as an organisation are already preparing for life without Rangnick as they have already appointed his replacement.

The latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) on Thursday confirms the indications from Germany in that Oliver Mintzlaff – currently the CEO of Leipzig – has been given a new role ‘Head of Global Soccer’ of the Red Bull group.

Rangnick, therefore, has essentially been replaced as his role is ‘Head of Football Development’ which has a similar scope and similar responsibilities. It could be yet another indication of an agreement now reached between the German and Milan.
