GdS: Kjaer forced to stop after 26 consecutive starts for Milan – when he could return

By Isak Möller -

Simon Kjaer has been a key player for Milan since his arrival in January, adding some much-needed experience to the side along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Now, however, he won’t be able to take part for a while.

The Dane had started 26 consecutive games prior to the injury, which means he won’t get to 27 tomorrow evening. Fortunately, the Rossoneri have both Matteo Gabbia and Alessio Romagnoli fit to cover for Kjaer’s absence.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (via MilanNews), Stefano Pioli will have do without the former Atalanta man at least until the Parma clash next week. By the looks of it, though, it will be even more than that.

The most likely hypothesis, as the newspaper continues, is that he will return either for the away match on December 20 against Sassuolo or the home clash against Lazio on December 23. Worst case scenario, he will miss the rest of the year.
