GdS: Krunic the only No.10 at Milan as things stand – reinforcements expected

By Isak Möller -

Milan are currently looking for a replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu, who decided to leave the club when his contract ended. Brahim Diaz is one step away from returning, but the deal has not been finalised just yet.

Therefore, as highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport this morning (via MilanNews), Rade Krunic is currently the only trequartista at Stefano Pioli’s disposal. The Bosnian, who is very versatile, scored two goals and assisted an additional three this past season.

We all remember his lovely free-kick against Hellas Verona, certainly showing Calhanoglu how it’s done in that department. However, Krunic won’t be the first-choice trequartista this upcoming season, not even the second choice.

In addition to Brahim Diaz, another arrival is expected for this position and we will soon know more about the matter. For now, though, the Rossoneri directors are working on it as they have several players in mind that must be evaluated.

  1. He wasn’t that bad as a sub for Hakan. Plays well on attack and able to score from distance, which is not our strongest side. Actually no one in the team can make an attempt from 15+ meters but Krunic.
But he obviously was a trash as a sub for Kessie.
Zero def skills. Zero center concreting skills.

  2. This is the man who got 100% trust under pioli, No matter how WORST he played , he Will always get chance. It’s Totally different to Hauge .seems krunic is unsellable for Milan , the management are getting busy with the sales of pobega and Hauge . But not this Garbage….

  3. I actually prefer him to the garbage Hakan who is laid back and lazy.

Krunic have better stats than Hakan when you consider the minutes played by each player.

Krunic will be a good back up for Diaz and Krunic is also a functional player that can cover many roles for the team when there injuries or may COVID induce absences.
