Rafael Leao could be set to take on a new role in the dressing room at AC Milan when he returns to Italy after his holidays, a report claims.
As has been reported in this morning’s La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), the Portuguese forward is set to come back to Milanello as a player of increased stature and maturity.
Much of his 2022/23 was clouded by contract negotiations but now that the deal has been signed, he can recapture his best form and enter a new stage of his career.
He is now 24 years old, has a long contract at a big club and has plenty of new signings to help bed into the team. He has every capability of becoming one of the major leaders in the squad.
He also has a personal mission to be the best player in Serie A given the likes of Victor Osimhen, Lautaro Martinez and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should all still be in the league. He can be the best out of all of them.
His recent quotes show he is ready to work hard. “On vacation I took a break thanks to my family and friends, but I continued to train anyway. Now I’m loaded and ready to start the new season,” he says.
“I spoke with the coach and some teammates and I feel a positive energy. I thank the fans very much for the many messages of affection and esteem they send me every day, I can’t wait to get started.”
Oh no! Leao is loaded 🍺
