Rafael Leao is seemingly getting closer to accepting AC Milan’s latest renewal offer. The negotiations have been underway for quite some time and the Rossoneri are making good progress, a report claims.
Given that the winger’s contract will expire in 2024, Milan have been working on a renewal for several months now. The negotiations, however, have been quite difficult not only because of Leao’s demands, but also the fine to Sporting.
As stated by Gazzetta Dello Sport’s Luca Bianchin, speaking to MilanNews, Leao is now ‘seriously thinking about it’, more than in the past. However, there are also still many factors to consider and that’s why it cannot be said that an agreement is super close.
Of course, the fact that Leao is inclined to stay will certainly help Milan in the negotiations. The next month, as Bianchin concludes, will be important for the negotiations and could give us a more definitive answer.
Both parties now know where they stand (in terms of offer and demand), as opposed to at the start of the negotiations, and this has also helped Leao take more of a stance on the matter.
