For too long, AC Milan have not been able to rely on Rafael Leao, and that must change this weekend against Inter. In recent derbies, he has not shone, and in his and the Rossoneri’s current state, this cannot happen once again.
A topic of criticism too many times already this season, it is a continuation of Leao’s struggles so far, rather than a player leaving them in the past. Whilst he has three contributions already, the expectations for him are much higher and understandably so.
He is the highest-paid player at the club and the highest valued, yet it doesn’t seem that way at present. When he signed his extension, it was hoped he would be spurred onto new heights, but this hasn’t been the case.
Already this season, he has been involved in a controversy with Theo Hernandez and Paulo Fonseca, albeit innocuous, it has remained a talking point since. Then, on Tuesday, he did not stick around at full-time, which has drawn more criticism to him.
As Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) report, he has a chance to turn his fortunes around, changing Milan’s as well in the process. In the past 15 derbies, he has been on the winning side just three times, losing 10 times. However, he has a trend of going missing in these games with only five contributions.
Should he shine again on Sunday, he would imaginably turn around the Diavolo’s fortunes whilst providing a platform for him to get better.
Haha.. good luck with that thought..
He has no leadership. Do not even bother looking to players with no leadership for guidance when in adversity.
As much as FM is an arcade look at football, anyone who has been a lifelong player of simulators know that just looking at Leáo’s body language and off the ball movement, we would put their Determination between 1-5. The only time they look like they want the ball, is when they go on their 1 out of 2-3 “knock ball past opponent and accelerate” attempts. Everything else about them looks like they don’t care about the $millions they are being paid. Depressing.
😂😂😂. 😭😭😭
