After everything seemed to be on the right track, the situation related to Rafael Leao’s renewal has once again stalled due to two issues, a report claims.
According to what La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) are reporting today, the month of January should have been the one where everything was agreed with Leao over a new contract and his signature arrived.
Instead, the situation has now become complicated again and there are two factors which are currently holding things up. The first is the release clause issue, and whether it remains at €150m or is raised, lowered or removed.
Then, there is the dispute between the two agents that are involved in the negotiations, namely Ted Dimvula – the lawyer who has power of attorney – and Jorge Mendes who has represented Leao for years. Of course, commissions would have to be agreed between all the parties for the signing to arrive.
Sell this dude
The biggest obstacle is that Leao isn’t interested. Not in playing and not in staying. Just watch the match from last night.
Also… One big obstacle is that he has done VERY LITTLE lately to inspire Milan to pay his entourage the hostage, ehm “signing bonus” money.
Given the state of this team he definitely will not sign now.
Its one thing to stay at a Milan team that has ambition and is competitive, its quite another to stay with a team that is falling apart, has no ambition to invest and improve and may miss out on top 4.
I said all summer long if we didn’t take this chance to invest in the team in order to stay competitive in italy and Europe, we would lose our best players.
I’m tired of hearing people’s illogical references to ffp etc.
We missed our chance and the club will struggle further financially due to it.
Elliott pulled off another clever scam.
“I’m tired of hearing people’s illogical references to ffp etc.”
FFP is pretty darn easy to understand. If you fail to identify how that is relevant to Milan’s situation, it looks like YOU have some “illogical” issues and not the others.
Its really just simpleton fan boys!
They just can’t understand that every take over by wealthy owners results in immediate investment in the team, except milan.
I have outlined many times the practical ways this can be done legally by new buyers.
Dont believe me, go ask Newcastle!
“I have outlined many times the practical ways this can be done legally by new buyers.”
Why didn’t you call the new owners and give your insights to them as I’m 100% they never even thought about those. 😛
Sell him to Manchester City they want him
Sell – He’s a luxury player that needs to play in a luxury team..
Sell him straightaway. In any event he only plays for 10 minutes per game …. if at all …..
SJF pointed out 👉 Americans only laundry money 💰 in football general, and now in Italy.
Sell him and earn from a player for a change. He is not gonna renew. Thia is all too familiar (kessie, turkish kebab, dollarruma)
Fyi Newcastle rank 20th on the recent Deloitte list of richest clubs (based on revenue), Milan are 16th
I am afraid Rafael leao formed has dipped drastically.
He doesn’t seem to be playing with any belief and conviction…His mind is elsewhere …only got to look at his body language last night ,,he didn’t have the real desire to get passed his last man ,let alone deliver in decent crosses…This in not a complete excuse ,but I partially believe that’s why Giroud is not scoring goals .The delivery to Olivier last night was non existent..
The midfield seems to be lacking in any creativity at the moment …perhaps confidence might come back with our defenders when Mike our goalkeeper returns hopefully very soon ..
“The midfield seems to be lacking in any creativity at the moment ”
Small but important correction:
“The midfield has been lacking in any creativity for many seasons already”
