GdS: Meeting planned with Romagnoli to discuss contract; Kessie very unlikely to renew

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are facing a difficult situation regarding two of their key players on expiring contracts in Alessio Romagnoli and Franck Kessie, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), the parties will meet shortly to discuss the extension of Romagnoli’s contract, but the Rossoneri management have made their stance clear: they are not willing to keep paying the club captain what he currently earns.

Milan want to keep the 26-year-old but want to reduce his salary. Currently, the former Roma man earns a salary of €5.5m net per season (bonuses included), but Maldini and Massara want to try a lower offer given that he is no longer a guaranteed starter.

Meanwhile, the paper claims that it now seems certain that Kessie is leaving Milan. His agent George Atangana is not making progress in talks with Milan and the possibility of the Ivorian renewing is now very small.
