GdS: Sassuolo, Udinese, Spezia, Salernitana and now Bologna – Milan’s dropped points

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have struggled to claim all the points you would expect this season, and yesterday’s draw against Bologna was further proof of that. In fact, it’s becoming quite the problem for Stefano Pioli’s men.

The Rossoneri were hoping to at least maintain their three-point lead before this round started but instead, their lead decreased to just one point. Despite 33 attempts, Pioli’s men failed to find the back of the net yesterday.

As pointed out by Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan have lost 14 points against teams placed in the bottom half of the table. The loss at home against Sassuolo, the draws vs. Udinese (home and away), the loss at home against Spezia, the draw at Salernitana and now the draw at home against Bologna.

With these points, things would have looked a lot different for Milan in the standings and although that’s a utopia, 14 points dropped is more than you would expect from those games. And frankly, more than you can accept.

  1. We will continue to lose points because we have NO plan of attack. Sometimes we have to depend on the goalkeeper to push the ball forward RAPIDLY.

    1. Yep. The lack of creativity is the main issue. Messias, Diaz & Tonali contributed NOTHING to the attack. Leao was totally useless too excluding one single cross managed to give.
