GdS: Milan eye decisive attempt for €25m star Szoboszlai – two times he nearly joined

Dominik Szoboszlai has impressed just about everyone with his performances in recent months. Just this week, he sent Hungary to the Euros with a great solo run in injury time, attracting even more interest.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanLive), Milan are one of the teams interested, having followed the player for a very long time. He has remained on their radar for all this time but he could have ended up at the Rossoneri earlier.

In fact, Szoboszlai came close to joining the club twice: in January when Zvone Boban was pushing for the move and this summer when Ralf Rangnick was set to take over from Stefano Pioli. Of course, it never materialised.

The player has a €25m release clause in his contract and this is an affordable price for Milan, especially since they are struggling to renew Hakan Calhanoglu’s contract. Should he leave, then the Hungarian could be the perfect replacement.
