GdS: Milan eye €70m-rated Juventus duo to fix problem area

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are considering a move for one of two Juventus centre-backs in case Mattia Caldara’s return from injury does not go as planned, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have so far been inconsistent at the back this season, failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their last six games and conceding at least two goals in give of them.

Part of the problems are at centre-back, where Mateo Musacchio has been disappointing so far while Leo Duarte has seemingly not done enough to convince, though it has been suggested he could move to right-back.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed on Tuesday that a lot will be placed upon Mattia Caldara’s return to the fold from injury, which is scheduled for early November.

Now the same paper, as cited by Calciomercato.com, are reporting that Milan could target one of Juventus duo Daniele Rugani or Merih Demiral.

The Rossoneri were linked with Rugani on Wednesday, while a report on football.london recently claimed that the 25-year-old would likely cost in the region of €30m in the winter window.

Meanwhile, we recently reported that Milan are still considering a move for Demiral, who is struggling for game time under Maurizio Sarri.

The Turkey international has been strongly linked with the Diavolo since the summer, and could apparently cost around €40m in January.
