GdS: Milan involved in transfer triangle involving Calhanoglu, De Paul and Atletico Madrid

By Oliver Fisher -

The situation regarding Hakan Calhanoglu could trigger some movement on the market, according to a report.

As reported by this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the intricate situation of Calhanoglu could unleash some movement on the international transfer market, in particular in Italy and Spain.

The reigning LaLiga champions are interested in Hakan Calhanoglu as Diego Simeone wants playmaker to improve the attacking department in terms of assists and quality, with a free transfer for the Turkey international a tempting possibility.

However their real target remains Rodrigo De Paul, the same playmaker that Milan would like to replace Calhanoglu if he eventually departs, albeit with a €40m asking price. The situation therefore is this: if Atletico are serious about Calhanoglu, Milan would take pole for the purchase of De Paul. However, if Calhanoglu renews then Atleti would push for the Argentine.
