GdS: Milan line up three potential replacements as defender could depart

By Oliver Fisher -

A lot of the attention and speculation regarding AC Milan’s summer transfer plans concerns the signing of a centre-forward, but there is another key area to address.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) talks about how second or third place is not enough for the Milan management, who are looking at making some big changes in view of the summer.

Of course the biggest decision will be regarding the future of head coach Stefano Pioli, because only once the head coach is in place – be it that he is kept or replaced – can Geoffrey Moncada look into recruitment that will fit the style and formation of the manager.

With a new striker being the priority, the rest of the window will follow after but Milan could sign a central defender to replace Simon Kjaer as per the paper, given that the Dane’s contract is expiring and has not been renewed so far.

Tosin Adarabioyo (Fulham), Maxence Lacroix (Wolfsburg) and Lilian Brassier (Brest) are on the list of potential signings, with the former available on a free transfer and the latter two having been linked for many weeks now.

A number of different clubs have been linked with a move for Kjaer as his contract runs out in a few months, and his agent spoke out about his client’s future a couple of weeks ago, admitting there has been interest.
