AC Milan have already decided that they will redeem the clause to make Simon Kjaer’s loan spell a permanent one, according to a report.
The Denmark international cut short his time at Atalanta and joined the Rossoneri on a six-month deal, with Milan confirming they have an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Kjaer himself actually admitted during his official presentation to the media at Casa Milan that he is already thinking about staying beyond June, and so far he has impressed up until his recent injury.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport on newsstands today (via MilanLive), in addition to the extension of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, there will also be the permanence of Kjaer who has convinced the club’s leadership.
The deal presents an important opportunity, among other things, to add some experience to a very young squad and to do so at a low cost. The paper adds that the option to buy is set at €2.5m.
The Milan of the future, therefore, will begin by betting on two players over 30 in Kjaer and Ibrahimovic. The search for the perfect balance between youth and experience will be the basis of the summer recruitment.
