GdS: Milan midfielder makes decision over immediate national team future

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali has made his decision on which part of the Italian national team setup he will represent in the immediate future, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), the Milan midfielder was tasked with deciding whether he would link up with the senior national team or the U21s this summer.

Both sides want the player to join them for their tournaments. For the seniors, they are in the Nations League semi-finals and the U21s are taking part in the European Championships.

Tonali has decided that he would rather be with the senior team and play in the Nations League. The teams participating with Italy are Spain, the Netherlands and Croatia.

Given Tonali has had plenty of experience now with the senior national team, it is not a huge surprise that he wants to continue earning his place in the midfield.
