GdS: Milan outcast Origi evaluating ‘hefty offer’ from Saudi Arabia

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have made it very clear to certain players in the squad that it would be in their best interest to leave the club this summer. Divock Origi is one of them and he’s now evaluating an offer from Saudi Arabia.

Origi arrived on a free transfer from Liverpool last summer but only managed to find the back of the net twice in his first season with the Rossoneri. Therefore, the latter are now looking to cash in on his departure.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Origi would prefer a return to Premier League but there have been no concrete options thus far. Therefore, he’s now evaluating ‘a hefty offer’ from Saudi Arabia – worth more than the €4m he earns per year at Milan.

Origi has been guaranteed a starting spot in Saudi Arabia and that destination could also give Milan more money. No transfer fee was mentioned by the newspaper, but the Rossoneri could perhaps collect around €10m.

  1. I feel we haven’t really treated Origi with much respect, by not allowing him to fight for his place and do a proper pre season to prove himself, but I do think with where he stands in the order at the club that he’ll be best moving on.

However, if he’s happy living in Milan and having an outside shot of breaking into the team, then I don’t begrudge him staying – it’s not his fault that Milan overcommitted on the contract to him and he’s never spoken out against the club or fans despite getting abuse.

    1. I honestly agree with your points. However Important thing is that the project has already started which he’s not part of. Hopefully manages a transfer asap so club could prepare the remaining days of the window better.

  2. He should become smarter and accept first offer that arrive.
Otherwise, he will be excluded from the squad, and be able to playing untill the end of the contract..

  3. A proper preseason? He has been given a whole year to get himself fit and he has look ordinary on every opportunity he has been given. This is the reason he is not part of the project. I do not think he will recover from his previous injuries or to the level that he had at Liverpool (which is also dramatically over stated given that he rarely started). He is not the 20 goal a season striker that Milan needs… he needs to leave.

  4. If you are not needed by your current club and might hinder the progress of any team that would be your net destinations, you better grab any first hefty opportunity and collect as much money as you can before they open they blindfold
