GdS: Milan player ratings from Atalanta draw – Bennacer shines but Tonali struggles

By Oliver Fisher -

There is a mixed bag of player ratings after AC Milan came from behind to secure a draw against Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium last night.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport relays their ratings for the game in Bergamo, starting by giving the team an overall score of 6.5 and Stefano Pioli the same grade for his management of the game.

The top performer was Ismael Bennacer who dominated the midfield battle and scored a crucial goal, while the flop was Brahim Diaz who drifted into being anonymous again after a promising display against Udinese.

Mike Maignan, Davide Calabria and Pierre Kalulu all received a score of 6, with Theo Hernandez getting a 7, though Fikayo Tomori and Sandro Tonali were each scored at a 5.5 as they seemed a bit off the pace.

Junior Messias got a 5 for another ineffective display, Rafael Leao was awarded a 6 and Ante Rebic a 5. Substitutes Charles De Ketelaere, Alexis Saelemaekers and Divock Origi all got a 6.5.

  1. Well Tonali was coming off of injury so it’s not that easy to be back to his best form immediately.
I do think he got a little too tired towards the end so Adli should have been brought in for him.
Saelamaekers was impressive when he came on so he should start. REBIC and Leao had quiet games as well.
CDK did not really get enough touches but he should have had an assist when he put Tonali 1 v 1 vs the keeper so not too bad.
    Brahim was sloppy today.
