GdS: Milan player ratings for Inter loss – ten players score 5 or under

By Oliver Fisher -

A number of AC Milan players have understandably come under fire after a disastrous performance in the Supercoppa Italiana final against Inter.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has given the team’s overall performance a 4 out of 10 as the Rossoneri were rolled over by their city rivals, with head coach Stefano Pioli getting the same grade for his management of the game.

The best player on the pitch for Milan was Ciprian Tatarusanu as per the paper as he actually prevented the scoreline from being more damaging, while Theo Hernandez was the first and got a 4, but he wasn’t the only player to get that mark.

The defensive department was full of disappointments starting from Davide Calabria who got a 5.5, then Simon Kjaer who received a 5, and Fikayo Tomori who scored a 4 after a very tough night.

Ismael Bennacer got a 5.5 and Sandro Tonali a 5 as the midfield were not at their best for large spells. Junior Messias (4.5), Brahim Diaz (5), Rafael Leao (5) and Olivier Giroud (4.5) all struggled in attack.

Off the bench, Charles De Ketelaere was awarded a 5, Pierre Kalulu a 6 and Divock Origi a 5.
