GdS: Milan player ratings for Chelsea loss – Tonali shines in difficult night

By Oliver Fisher -

It was a tough assignment for AC Milan’s players against Chelsea last night, especially after they went down to ten men and conceded a penalty due to Daniel Siebert’s dreadful officiating.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below) have published their ratings from the game, starting with head coach Stefano Pioli who was given a 6 for his handling of a match that could have very quickly got out of control with the anger bubbling after the red card.

Sandro Tonali was the man of the match and received a 6.5 out of 10, with Fikayo Tomori adjudged to be the worst performer (5) after he was sent off in the 18th minute, even though the paper themselves said it was wrong.

Ciprian Tatarusanu got a 6 as did centre-back Matteo Gabbia, with Pierre Kalulu getting a 6.5 and Theo Hernandez a 5.5. In midfield Ismael Bennacer received a 6.5, with Brahim Diaz worth of a 6.

Rade Krunic and Rafael Leao were given a 5.5 and Olivier Giroud a 5 to round off the starting line-up, then substitutes Sergino Dest (5.5), Tommaso Pobega (6) and Ante Rebic (6).
