AC Milan do not yet consider the midfield department to be complete, and there could be three moves before the window ends including a signing and two sales.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan still hope to win the race with Roma for the Borussia Moenchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone, but the directors know that sales are needed first to free up spots in the squad and to generate funds.

Bennacer was bought for 17m. 5 years later he is still worth around 17m.
I wouldn’t look to deep into the opening bid. Just like we offered 12 for Fofana. If they truly are interested I could see that going up to somewhere in the mid to high 20’s.
The difference is that there were other teams interested in Fofana, even offering almost doubled than what Milan paid. There is no interest in Bennacer from European clubs. Only Saudi clubs, and I doubt that they desperately need him to offer much more.
Well no, the fact we presumably received 20m offer doesn’t mean he is worth only 20m. Also, before the knee injury he was probably worth more than 40m and I expect he will have a decent season. His current and diminished value is based on a half season of poor play, but during that time the whole team played poorly.
It was actually half of the half season that Bennacer played last season. On the other hand the preseason physical training were always poor because of the pioli strategy and training methods. But now i believe bennacer is needed this season regarding his experience in Seria A and his versatility who can ply in depth and behind forwards wher i believe this is his main spot. And im not sure of keeping adli too. Anyway more midfielders more options you have to change tactics in case of complexity

Expectations and reality aren’t always the same.
The whole team didn’t play poorly. That team finished 2nd with Bennacer being Injured half of the season and playing poorly the other half.
The previous season when, as you say he was worth 40m, Milan finished 5th.
Which season the whole team played poorly? 22/23 when Bennacer was healthy, worth more than 40 according to you, but Milan finished 5th, or last season when he was injured and playing poorly but Milan finished 2nd?
It would all be a lot easier if they just decided to play 433 and bring in a propah DM.

They already close the market ted unless benny leave then they will bring his replacement. If pobega & adili leave no effect for management, they will not bring new player even both of them leave. It is hard to find pure DMF , most of them are like kessie just box to box player
Amrabat and Prati. One is cheap and experienced the other is young and talented.
I was gonna say, it would be so much more functional to replace the the giant ball and chain that Pobega has become with someone equally Italian and more functional like Prati or Ricci…

We need a Spanish kind of midfielders, basically two, someone capable defending and ball control player, someone like Gavi, Cardoso or Rodri and get an attacking midfielder in the likes of Brahim Diaz or Dani Olmo with the inclusion of the current midfielders Milan already has, I promise will beat any opponent including Madrid, just get their likes and you would see something spectacular, I wonder what the board or Foseca is assembling, maybe a French kind of midfield that still would be outrun by a quality looking midfielder’s, midfield isn’t always about blacks and strength, it’s about quality, sharpened, confident ball holders and desperate recovery process of the ball and above all dazzle, a player that his touches in the AM alone causes problems, slickly and dazzling
Kone isn’t needed nor will he be signed. He blocks the route for a Primavera player.
