GdS: Milan set to announce renewal of star man in the next 48 hours – the figures

By Oliver Fisher -

Even though it seems to have been imminent for over a week, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s renewal is set to finally be announced over the next 48 hours, a report claims.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), the Swede is expected to put pen to paper on a new one-year extension either today or after Wednesday’s game against Sassuolo.

The 39-year-old will return to the starting line-up against the Neroverdi having served his one-match suspension against Genoa at the weekend. Ibra will sign a new deal worth €6.5m plus bonuses in the next couple of days as the two parties have already reached an agreement.

His 15 Serie A goals is an impressive tally considering the time missed through lengthy injury absences, and the veteran striker has no doubt had a huge impact on the team off the field too, instilling a winning mentality and helping young players develop.
