GdS: Milan star attracting interest from ‘several top European clubs’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s star goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is attracting interest from a number of elite clubs, according to a report.

Donnarumma was linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain again over the summer but ultimately remained with the Rossoneri.

Now, attentions have turned towards his renewal as he is currently on a deal which expires in 2021, and Milan have no intention of letting the contract into its final 12 months.

There are obstacles to overcome, however, such as the fact Donnarumma currently earns the most out of any Milan player at €6million per year.

It has been claimed by a number of outlets – including Calciomercato.com that Milan want to try and lower that amount by spreading the current total amount of the deal over two more years.

On Friday, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that it seems ‘difficult’ to imagine the 20-year-old staying at the club under the current terms, seemingly hinting his agent Mino Raiola will request a pay rise.

According to the same outlet (as cited by MilanNews.it), PSG have been the club that have tried most seriously to prize Donnarumma away from Milan.

However, they are not the only club interested, as the paper claims that the Italy international has several admirers around Europe.

Real Madrid have been linked with a €70m move recently, while Manchester United have also been credited with interested.
