GdS: Milan face uphill battle in pursuit of Sanches amid PSG interest

By Isak Möller -

Renato Sanches’ future has become an enigma as despite an agreement with AC Milan, the negotiations have completely stalled. The midfielder is now pushing for a move to Paris Saint-Germain, a report claims.

Since January, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been working on the signing of Sanches from Lille. An agreement in principle was reached just before the season ended but then everything changed, not just because of the renewals of Maldini and Massara.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Sanches is pushing for a move to PSG after the latter expressed their interest recently. The French side are ready to give the midfielder a salary of €5m per year, which is significantly more than Milan.

On the other hand, Milan have offered more than PSG to Lille (€12m vs. €15m) and thus the operation remains alive for the Rossoneri. It’s an uphill road, there is no doubt about it, but there is still a glimmer of hope.

  1. Forget Renato Sanches. If CDK arrive, CDK will be the AMC & Adli might need to go deeper as 4th pivot (like he did past season with the French Side).

  2. Even if the transfer materializes, he would be unwanted. I’m sure majority of fans don’t want a player who doesn’t want to play for us.

Instead, I would rather invest that money for CDK in case of a bidding war with Leeds because he clearly wants to play for Milan.

From what I see, we are pretty set on central midfield with Adli and Pobega in the team. We don’t need Renato. To add the physicality, we have Krunic and Bennancer. Krunic, despite being criticized heavily, is actually a Good CDM.
