GdS: Milan wait anxiously as Maignan leaves France camp due to calf injury

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan medical staff face an anxious wait as Mike Maignan will soon return to Milanello after suffering a calf injury, a report claims.

Mike Maignan did start the game against Austria last night given that Hugo Lloris is out, but he was replaced at the interval. The Milan goalkeeper left the pitch at the Stade de France to make room for Alphonse Areola due to a problem in his left calf.

That is what is being reported by RMC Sport (via MilanNews), so once again Milan’s medical team will be waiting for an update regarding the condition of the player in view of the crucial upcoming games.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Maignan felt pain in his calf but the extent of the issue is not yet clear. The former Lille man will undergo medical examinations with the French national team this morning and then return to Milan this afternoon where he will be taken care of by the Rossoneri medical staff.
