GdS: Milan worried Ibrahimovic may need surgery – plans for the market could change

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could have to change their summer plans because fears are growing that Zlatan Ibrahimovic may face a long spell out, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports how the 39-year-old Swedish star was in Rome for a check on his left knee earlier, after the injury suffered on 9 May in the 3-0 win against Juve. Yesterday Ibrahimovic was in Mallorca on vacation on his yacht, but today he saw Dr. Volker Musahl, the specialist who had visited him at Milanello a month ago.

The conservative therapy opted for at the time of his injury – a six-week period – does not seem to have brought the desired results, something highlighted by the Swedish coach Janne Andersson during an interview before Euro 2020.

The prospect of surgery worries Milan and if Ibra were out of action for many months, further signings on the market would be necessary to allow him to recover without haste and to give Pioli some cover in the attacking department.
