GdS: Milan’s mercato far from over – budget allocated for playmaker and winger

By Isak Möller -

Milan have already spent €60m on the transfer market but it won’t end there, although there will be some sales to compensate for the spending. In addition to a playmaker, a right-winger could also arrive.

The Rossoneri have fixed the defence with the signings of Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori and Fode Ballo-Toure. Sandro Tonali has been brought in for the midfield, while Brahim Diaz and Olivier Giroud will reinforce the attack.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan have also budgeted for a new playmaker, a young striker and a right-winger. Then, depending on opportunities on the market, there might be more.

In other words, Milan’s mercato is far from over and it will be very interesting to see the squad at the end of August, when the season will kick off. Hopefully, it will be considered better than what the Rossoneri had last season.

  1. For the the young striker I think we should go for Tammy Abraham. Unlike Ziyech who Chelsea paid €40 million for, Tammy’s a product of their academy so they don’t have the urge to get their investment back like they do with Ziyech and that means a loan deal is very much possible, specially considering Milan bought Tomori after just half a season with the club because he did so well. Tammy is very young, he’s very tall but also very skilled, he scored 15 goals a couple seasons back plus an additional 3 in champions league, and even last season with very little play time he managed to scored a few goals in both competitions. He has a lot of potential and it’s a loan deal I feel Chelses will be very open to!

    1. Solid reasoning, but they want to fund their own transfer market. “Rumor” has it that they want Haaland, and after the 230mm euro spending spree last season will need to raise some funds to sign a player rated at 175mm. So I think they will demand (and get) 30-40mm. With Ibra and Giroud already on the books I’m not sure Milan will spend this much on a 3rd string striker. I’m thinking ~15m on someone 18-20 y/o who can come in and learn for a season. Then it will be between him and Giroud in 22/23.

    2. You may have something there RR
Tammy is young and time is on his side
Very talented, fast striker is what ACM very much needed

  2. Dortmund just sold Sancho for like 90 million euros so dortmund dont need money and dont want to lose two key players in one tranfer window so they are not gonna sell Halland this summer and Halland wants to go to real madrid so next summer Halland is going to madrid for 75 million euros!I dont really understand why superstar players want to go madrid a club that treats is legends like trash like they did with raul,cr7,casillas,ramos,etc…

    1. The reason superstar players want to go to Madrid is the same reason every student dream to school in Harvard.

Hopefully Milan regain it’s status in world football soon.

  3. This is a ridiculous purchase and humiliating because we all know that Milan is a great team and one of the brands in the world of football, every player has a dream to play in Milan of course it was ten years ago when the world’s greatest players played in Milan, now this is just a circus that unfortunately leads Maldini, for him it is better to leave this job because it is not for him and his reputation.

    1. “We all know milan WAS a great club” now maldini is back, and we are on track after 7 years of mediocrity. Also credit for Boban for signing Ibra which fundamental for these youngster mentality. Unfortunately, Boban was sacked by gazidis because ibra salary is high, and could not be sold in the future. Boban care about glory of Milan while Gazidis is not. And i think, Gazidis is the growing cancer in Milan. All he care is capital gain, then he pushed Maldini/Massara to scout a young talented player for sale after couple years. We know what they capable of. They found theo, hauge, Tomori, kjaer. Now all we need is to wait until their price rocketed, and Gazidis will make a move to sell player. Mark my word, after we find backup for Theo, he will be sold next season.
