GdS: Milan’s midfield set to undergo changes – three names targeted as trio could leave

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to undergo changes in their midfield department this summer with three players in particular on the wish list, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the only two defensive midfielders to have a certain place in the squad next season are Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer.

Biglia has left and Rade Krunic is attracting interest from Torino, while a bit further up the pitch Lucas Paqueta is a player that seems destined to be on the fringes and could also depart.

Milan have three players in mind to add quality and depth to their midfield department: Tiemoué Bakayoko, Matteo Pessina and Florentino Luis. The first has never hidden his desire to return to the Rossoneri and is even ready to reduce his salary, but Milan must now find an agreement with Chelsea. The demand is €20m, the offer for now is €15m.

Atalanta are willing to sell Pessina meanwhile, and Hellas Verona would gladly take him back on loan for another season, but Milan who could use their 50% resale clause to essentially sign him at half price.

Finally, the Diavolo’s interest in Florentino Luis is still alive. The Portuguese club are asking for at least €30m, but alternative formulas are being studied such as a one or two-year loan with option or obligation to buy.
